Speaker | Biography by
Carol Clark | Before
becoming an esteemed member of our Club and the State Bar of Georgia,
William J. ("Bill") Morton practiced medicine as a board certified
urological surgeon in Atlanta for over thirty years. Post-graduate
urology training took place at Emory-Grady Residency Program, followed
by a stint in the United States Air Force as a medical
officer. A life-long learner, Bill's
curiosity landed him in law school where he became a member of the State
Bar of Georgia in 1985. Medio-legal topics are one of his
passions. Clearly it was a labor of love to author Medical
Malpractice: Handling Urology Cases, highly recommended for 11:30 p.m.
reading. The term "Renaissance Man" gets tossed out every
now and then, but Bill Morton fits the mold perfectly. When asked
about his interests outside of law and medicine, Bill lists history,
astronomy, ornithology, classical piano and photography. Did I
mention that he holds a private pilot's license and United States Coast
Guard captain's licenses? He loves his wife Monna and they
divide their time between Atlanta, Georgia and Ennis, Montana. Bill is
well into the writing of his next book which explores Andrew Ellicott's
life and travels. If you haven't heard of Ellicott's Rock in Georgia
history, you will. I know you will enjoy hearing Bill
Morton discuss Georgia's boundaries and how we got them. Read more about
him at www.wjmortonmdjd.com. |
